Kal Ghodveis Summit (Dena)

Altitude: 4350m

Difficulty:

Best Time: Spring & Summer

Tour Length: 3 days

This summit which is in the north end of Dena is located in the south of Aab Malakh village. For ascending the summit, we will pass Semirom (a city with the highest altitude in Iran, 2460m) toward Dena. After driving 45km, we will reach Aab Malakh village. In front of us we can have an overview of Kal Ghodveis and its surrounding summits. Two parallel mountains, a vast plateau in middle of which is the main summit are obvious at our right hand. We will start climbing the summit from the south side of Aab Malakh village toward Moor Tavileh pass.

Topography of the region

Kal Ghodveis, as the highest peak in the north of Dena is bounded with Kal Sheida and Kal Noghrei summits from its southern flank and through Ghor pass to Rag-e Hava Mountain from its northeast.

In Winter

In spite of its height and the long route for climbing, we can also ascend the summit in winter through its northeast and northwest, but only in the case that we have a complete set of mountaineering facilities and technical climbing knowledge for winter.

Itinerary

Day 1: At 7 am, drive from Yasuj to Aab Malakh village (about two hours), then move toward Atabaki pass to camp there (about 4 hours of hiking). Stay overnight there.

Day 2: At 7 am, start climbing the summit (about 7 hours steep climbing). Return to the camp and stay there overnight.

Day 3: At 8 am, move back to the village and from there to Yasuj.

P.S. It is possible to make a two-day tour if we return to the Aab Malakh village immediately after descending the summit.
