Early in
the morning depart for Abarkouh (291 km). Visit the traditional ice-cisterns (20
mins), 4000 year-old cypress (30 mins), Nezamieh School, one of the oldest
Iranian post-Islamic universities which date back to 1000 years ago (20 min),
Jame’ mosque (20 mins), Agha Zadeh house (30 mins), anthropological museum (20
mins) and Aliyeh Dome, the tomb of a Seljuk king located on the peak of a
mountain (1 hr). Stay overnight in Abarkouh to savour the blinking sky of desert
or continue the route to Yazd or Shiraz.
